All Eyes to the Computer Screen, Class!
FREE EDUCATION! Now this is not where I launch into a political diatribe about how public education should be free or any other ’stick it to the man’ rally. I was surfing the social business wonder that is ‘LinkedIn’ the other day and ran across a really cool program called LIFE. LIFE , part of the Chai network, is an online worldwide community offering free classes. Anyone can join and so far people are tuning in from over 50 countries!Currently, the first course offered is on Corporate Strategy and is taught by straightforward, encouraging NYU professor, Dr. Jack Sandler Bloom, via 30-minute videos. It’s low stress with optional assignments and projects (every student’s dream) and because the endeavor is so green, Dr. Bloom entertains any and all suggestions from his students to better the experience. There’s even a social chat component so that students can collaborate, bounce ideas around and get to know their classmates. LIFE is education for those who just want to know more! Plus, we can talk in class and the teach will never know!
By the way, you can get Dr. Bloom’s grading and feedback on your assignments, and a certificate of completion at the end of the course, for a reasonable fee. I dig it!
