apparently he had the suit fall from the sky in front of him, along with a manual he promptly LOST…yeah, this guy IS the typical american.

can i move to canada? i bet their spiderman doesn’t sing and dance, he probably just gives a good old fashion whoopin’ to the sub-standard bad guys he fights, ay?

I was referring to self guilt. like “oh i have so much money and i should really make the world a better place” type of guilt. yes he did start off with revenge, and eventually it came to be a quest for justice and greater welfare for the common people of gotham.

as far as the third spiderman movie…i was just as disappointed as everyone else, maybe more so being such a huge fan. there were too many villains in the movie, even at 2 hours and 19 minutes there was not enough time to really flesh out all the story lines then had going. don’t even get me started on the music scene and the john travolta-like staying alive walk on the sidewalk where peter parker oggled all the girls he walked by. it was a let down on SO many levels….

and as far as brad’s average joe hero, no, it is definitely NOT GI Joe…

Batman wasn’t “guilted” into superhero work. It was revenge based. He had to issue payback for the tragic deaths of his parents. Revenge! Grrrr. It’s dark, it’s brooding, it’s… Batman.

More so than the disapointment in Spiderman villains, can we address the third movie quickly? I didn’t realize there was a wussy musical element to the story. It was a train wreck. I’m sure Batman would lend Spiderman a cool villain if it will erase the memory of that third movie.

Is Brad referring to GI Joe?

ok, two separate rebuttals on this one.

first, jana. No, i am not jealous of bruce wayne, yes it would be nice to have money, so much so that i could build/buy anything i ever needed to fight crime would be nice but then i would probably be guilted into “helping” people…and yes batman has WAY cool villains. i was always bummed out about spiderman’s villains, for the most part. venom was cool and so was carnage, but the rest fo them were kind of, well, lets say disappointing. i really wish he fought cooler bad guys.

second, brad. WHO THE HECK IS THAT “SUPERHERO”????????

I’m not calling Jack Bauer into this discussion. I am just saying he’s fearless and if he fought Batman, well then I’d buy tickets to that movie, too.

For the record: There’s no special power to carry around a whole lot of stuff with you. Though I will admit that for a few years when I was really little, I was convinced that my grandmother had that Mary Poppins bag. I mean, don’t get me wrong. It take talent to pack that many accessories, but it’s not a “power.”

So Bruce Wayne has money. He’s well connected. Jealous? And heck yes he has the best toys. But that’s because he needs them to make up for the fact that he has no super powers. Plus, his villans are trickier than the other villans. They’re all completely insane! He’s put Joker in Arkham so many times, he deserves that Bat Copter!

I will concede the fact that Bruce Wayne has no super powers. But will point out that he doesn’t need them because he can BUY anything that exists, and if it doesn’t exist he can pay to have it invented. Below is a list to all of the equipment he has, and you as a woman must admit that if he is able to carry around all that stuff he has to have SOME kind of super power…

As for jack bauer, i am calling shenanigans on that one. he was never introduced to the debate, he isn’t considered a “super hero” so again i say SHENANIGANS!!!!!!!!

You’re saying, had little Bruce not been born into a wealthy family, he wouldn’t have been Batman. Very interesting, however I don’t think we can assume foster care would be the only option. I notice that you fail to address the real issue here, and that is the FACT that Batman has no super powers. Batman doesn’t have a Spidey sense or X-ray vision. If you prick him, he does bleed. But then he gets really angry and inflicts pain and suffering. But, you see my point here. The money helps, but he puts more on the line in terms of injury or death.

Agree to disagree. We all know that Jack Bauer would still give them something to worry about.
